My painting shows the workers during the hot and windy day at East Coast Park.
East Coast Park in Singapore is mainly dedicated to entertainment, exercise, swimming and enjoyment. Sometimes, I can’t see what is beyond the landscape. Even though the landscapes are filled with hundreds of ships in the sea, we still enjoy polluted water. This time it was a bit different.
I saw the men working on the beach, using tools and digging in the soil. The contrast between the sea colour and their features was extreme. It was powerful enough to make me think about our society. Life is going on, and people pass by. Nothing has changed.
