Collagraph print

This collagraph is underground version of Moonlight Magic. The tree in Moonlight Magic is turned into mine and is based on an account of an 11 year old boys first day at work down a coal mine. Inspired by Catherine Baileys book Black Diamonds.

Exhibited at Wentworth Woodhouse as part of The Collective art group.

Printed on 250gsm cartridge paper .

A Collagraph print is one made from a plate with different textures. The printing plate is made from mount board. The process is a combination of intaglio and relief.

I created a collage of my image using fabrics, glues adhesive and then sealed and dried before printing. The beauty of this process is the way all the colours merge together when printed and no image will ever be the same.
