Original artwork description:

This painting forms part of the experimental works exploring movement through space and capturing the landscape as though one is moving fast across it. This painting explores the landscape across from my friend's studio by the Fish Factory Studios in Falmouth, next to the River Fal, through the large doors when opened.

The painting captures the early morning misty scene between the river Fal and the sky, with the opposite landscape/ hills overlooking the river. This scene is just along from the Boat Shed. I kept the pallete of colours limited to blues, whites and greens, observing the shifting light through the morning rising mist and landscape which cut through between the river and the sky.

An elemental and serene painting and one which foreshadows my fascination with Zen principles developed in Spain.

Materials used:

Oil Paint, Dammar Varnish, Linseed Oil, Satin Varnish, Linen Canvas.
