Original artwork description:

Painting in figurative expressionist style that represents the imaginary portrait of the Sienese painter Giovanni Antonio Bazzi, known as Sodoma (1477-1549), whose artistic figure constitutes a sort of bridge between the late Renaissance and Mannerism. In Siena, in particular, his importance was notable in imprinting the general lines of the subsequent Sienese Mannerism. During his lifetime he was a very well-known figure in society, both for his very flamboyant and singular lifestyle and for his love of rich and bizarre clothes, as well as wild and untamed animals.
