Original artwork description:

I have spent over 40 years working as an estuarine and marine biologist, often taking samples in muddy estuaries such as the Exe, in Devon, UK. I love mudflats and the animals and plants that live in and on them. This ink painting used as a reference a photo I took on New Year's Eve 2020. It was done by diluting black ink to various concentrations with water.

Please note that it is not mounted. There is a sufficiently large white margin not visible on the photo so that it can be framed to show the full painting.

Materials used:

Indian ink diluted to various amounts with water.
