A cinema in America's mid-West, basking in the heat of an American summer. I was struck by the iconic shapes and colours of the cinema, a longing for a more innocent, idealised and filtered version of the past, a world of milk shakes and burgers, of huge cars, of hazy meadows. A world where anything is possible, a land where dreams come true. Scents of buttery pop corn and baking, a sense of anticipation. The work is on a 0.4 inch deep canvas and can therefore hang without the need for framing. A perfect tribute to the silver screen, a great gift.
