Original artwork description:

I based this painting on a photo I took one morning in New York City waking up in a hotel room. I'd painted something similar a few years ago in a small format, and decided I'd like to try this on a larger scale. The warm browns and greys of the background set off the white, grey and lavenders of the sheets and pillows, and the thalo blues of the quilt. Complex to paint, but the result is striking. Framed in a 3-inch wide (7.6 cm) gold plein air frame (wood), this is signed and dated in verso and ships with a Certificate of Authenticity.
