Once the days start getting earlier at the end of summer, the sunsets speed up and you get these dusky, dark scenes which bring about a whole new palette.

This painting was made after an evening boat trip in late August. I love the peace and quiet these muted colours bring, and the stillness in the river makes the scene feel so calm!
