The embers of the camp fire.

As an artist, like others before me I have to push myself to try new things.

I've been experimenting with Ochre's and Earth colours in the pursuit of Australian inspired Abstracts.

Each study is approached in the same way any artwork is created. I continue to explore shape, line and composition until I feel something from the work. To me each one tells a story.

This one reminded me of an outback adventure where the evening is spent around a camp fire. Early morning sunrise lights up the surroundings. Of the camp fire the embers of the night before remain.

I prefer to leave that up to the view in most cases. Warmth and layered with some texture. Up close you can explore the different techniques employed to give diversity to the piece.
