The painting "The Eclectic" is inspired by the painting of Willem de Kooning, one of the most important representatives of abstract expressionism, who alongside Jackson Pollock is also considered a pioneer of action painting. The title of the work in turn refers to the method of eclecticism (from ancient Greek ἐκλεκτός eklektós "selected, selected"), which uses different systems (e.g. styles, disciplines, philosophies) and reassembles their elements. The most famous representative of this direction was Cicero. Particularly in his ethical ideas, he essentially adopted the teachings of the Stoics, but also incorporated values from the Academy and Peripato. In Christianity, the eclectic motto of Paul von Tarsus "Check everything and keep the good!" In music there is the term "sampling" which for me goes in a similar direction. The painting is 130 x 130 cm and ready to hang.
