Beauty is not always happy - it can also be found in the melancholy. Ash die back is a serious tree disease that is ravaging the iconic ash trees in Britain.

This tree is found at a local nature reserve and still has an air of strength and stature, despite the fact it is slowly dying. I wanted to portray it at sunset, as the dying light reflected the state of the tree.
