Title: The Dream Tree
In the Caledonian forests of Scotland we have ancient gnarled old trees that have been there for hundreds of years; wandering here sometimes makes you feel you are completely lost in time. You can wander along tiny paths for miles without seeing anyone other than the occasional doe or stag and some rabbits. There are streams of crystal clear water that gush over rocks with a sparkle of sunlight. And then there are the clearings. Small areas filled with glorious sunshine where the new trees grow. Here is the place to sit and just drink in the colour green. I came across this clearing on a beautiful warm sunny day, deep in the forest, just me and my trusty spaniel Charlie. This little tree seemed to drip with stars of bright lime green. Beneath, there was a carpet of wild oxeye daisies in the long grass. My mind wandered for hours in this idyllic space.
I have saved this image for a long time, not feeling I could share it but when I came across it this morning I had such an uplifting experience just thinking about these memories that I had to send it out into the world.
Made on a trip through the forests near Callendar, a small village in the Scottish Highlands.
The image has an additional border of at least 2 inches all round in white.
A passion for printing....
I am passionate about printing my own work. I have spent many years perfecting this skill and selecting the most beautiful paper and canvas to work with. People often say that my images look like paintings because of the richness of the colours, the depth of the black and the texture of the materials I use.
Fine art canvas and non fade ink
