Original artwork description:

This is my interpretation of the the idea of a family tree with the 'Distaff' or Female side and the 'Spear' or Male side. It also symbolises the fact that we are all supposed to have a female and male side so I have shown the two parts of the tree meeting in the middle to represent the cross over that is innate within all of our personalities
