First of all, I want to thank the Artfinder Team for supporting Ukrainian artists. This is very valuable for us.

And now about the picture:
The painting "The day before the war" was painted the day before the war.
Nobody expected that Russia to attack Ukraine.
On February 23, I painted this picture with thoughts about the future and with the expectation of spring. In the evening I taught my two students, and at the next lesson we agreed to study the work of Antoni Gaudí.

I went to bed late. At 5 a.m. I woke up and my whole country woke up with me, about 40 million people. It was dark and a fighter plane was flying over my house, explosions were heard.
From that day on, I don't sleep in my bed and in my pajamas anymore.. we don't sleep at all. Since every day at 5 in the morning shells usually fly at us.
We sleep on the floor in the corridors away from the windows and we sleep in outerwear with all the documents and money in our pockets. In case a shell or rocket hits the house so that we can quickly escape.
What is happening now in Ukraine is the genocide of my people.
