Original artwork description:
Currently I have been working on some large paintings on heavy weight watercolour paper, drawing on the research I did last year, examining the river's water from its source down in the centre of Todmorden. This painting is multi-layered, and much of the imagery is from a visit to the river close to the centre of town, where it is possible to walk on a path down below river level, and look up through the layers of water. The painting is made with oil paint, onto paper 5 ft x 4 ft.
