Artwork description:

This image is created from original photographs taken at Southwold Harbour along the Suffolk Coast in England. It has been created by layering and juxtaposing up to 50 different photographic details to create an entirely new scene, which captures a sense of the coastline but leaves room for your own imagination.

I I visited Southwold many times before I actually took the ferry over to the beautiful town of Walberwsick. As a consequence I always saw it as something ‘over there, on the other side. The composition I have created makes me think of trying to get somewhere and wondering how this can be achieved. For me it is about the space between where you are and where you wish to be.
