The Corner is a view up the street and around the corner from my home in Burbank, California, USA. The painting was inspired by a reference photo that I snapped at twilight after a rain shower and as the street lights were blinking on.

I’m inspired by compelling visual stories, intense contrast, brilliant colors, and the hand-of-man dancing with nature. Transitional times of day (sunset, sunrise) and dramatic skies especially bring me joy. Luckily I happened on that combination for The Corner.

My Artistic Inspiration…
I’m a cityscape oil painter passionate about bright colors and deep contrast. My inspirations are the fluid light, dramatic vistas, quiet neighborhoods and stark landscapes of California and the Southwest. I paint with a vibrant palette and expressive brushstrokes to share my vision of an essence of the urban experience. I hope that the viewer will be inspired to see the world around them in a new, beautiful light.

This work is rendered in many layers of oil paint on gallery-wrapped canvas.
