The Commemoration one of my larger abstract pieces inspired by my local nature reserve. Back in the studio when I paint, I use the shapes of the scenery as a starting point and I recollect where I have been, how it made me feel - then my paintings take on the space that is between the reality and my daydreams. I hope the viewer can get absorbed into the depth of the paintings and draw their own emotions from the piece. This painting is very dynamic, the colours blending so well together.
