My work has always been heavily influenced by French country living and I'm lucky enough to spend time there painting. This little piece was completed en plein air in the garden of an old Charentaise farmhouse, where there is a sense of timelessness, and one summer day saunters lazily into the next, punctuated only by eating and swimming. Painted largely with a palette knife, with a smidgeon of texture, this little piece gives a traditional scene a contemporary vibe.

Painted in oils on canvas paper, it will require framing. It is signed on the back.
