“The Circle” 92x118cm oil on canvas. Completed today at Greenwich Market

This painting depicts someone trapped in the depths of profound depression. The two figures represent the same person. On the left, she extends her hand in a gesture of despair, saying, “I have nothing but fire around me.” On the right, she becomes the source of the fire, swinging the body of the dragon—symbolic of depression—fueling the destruction. The angels, embodying hope and help, burn and perish as they attempt to save her, yet the fire can only be extinguished by her own will.
