The setting is Bratislava, Slovakia, 2016.
I was about to take a photo of a group of nuns walking past a beggar without so much as a side-ways glance.
Or so I thought until one of the devout ones stopped, turned around and walked back toward him while rummaging through her habit for a coin or two.
Or so I thought, once again, until I discerned a hint of disappoinment on the poor man's face as the alm was placed in his outstretched tin plate. Ah well, maybe he's not a great fan of dark chocolate.
