Oil on linen 115x108x2cm (45.3x42x0.8in) 2015
SOLD, private collection, Cilavegna, IT
This painting is the result of a photo shoot with the students of an art school in Vigevano. I was looking for a painting which could match the “Dinner with mandarins” style. To do that, I got inspired by Valentin de Boulogne's art. To give the artwork a modern look I decided to use coloured artificial lights, which I found in a chinese shop close to my studio.
I painted “The Chinese lamp” on a fine quality, hand primed linen cloth using top range oil colours. The painting is currently part of a private collection in Italy.
