Original artwork description:

‘The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance.’ Aristotle
I painted this one at the beginning of the autumn, before the colours had really started to change. It is a view of a few old farm structures along the Charente river at a little hamlet known as Vouleme. Lovely day with stunningly clear light – colours and shapes everywhere.
No point whatsoever of trying to paint any details!

Materials used:

Oil paint
