Original artwork description:

I grew up in Uruguay, Latin America. Tango dancing was part of the culture and often danced at home and street parties. Tango is a very dramatic and ritualistic dance. From the different steps to the dress, and from the poses to the interchange of body language, everything means something. The story is that this dance was brought to Argentina and Uruguay by Italian immigrants and that men used it to attract females as the latter were in short supply!

Materials used:

Oil paints on canvas and varnish
