Original artwork description:

A sculpture of two complimentary halves, with a form not unlike lungs, trapped and constricted by illness. But, with a golden glimmer of recovery beginning to emerge.

From a single solid piece of clay emerged the chains, one link at a time, evolving and growing. I could lose 5 or 6 hours as the form revealed itself. I felt I was pouring all the negative energy and anxiety into the piece, the heaviness on my lungs, the tightness in my chest and the tangled thoughts of my mind, an emotional rather than a physical process. I could feel the heaviness start to lift and I was in control again.

Dimensions given are for one piece (both are similar) and are approximate due to the irregularity of the pieces.

Materials used:

Clay, oxide, gold lustre
