This painting was inspired by a trip to Budapest in early spring. The Chain Bridge in Budapest is one of the oldest bridges spanning the Danube River. This bridge connects two different parts of the city of Buda and Pest in terms of atmosphere and architecture.
I was impressed by the scale of this construction, the beauty of the views through the powerful and rapid waters of the Danube. Standing there, I involuntarily remember the melody of Johann Strauss's waltz "The Blue Danube". With the help of iridescent fills and flowing watercolors, I wanted to convey the clean spring air of Budapest, the sound of a waltz, and the joy of life.
Sunlight gets tangled in the metal structures of the bridge, a pleasure ship carries the first tourists along the river, a view of Pest in the midday haze of the spring air. All this range of feelings and colors is reflected in the picture, creating an unusual atmosphere of lightness of being.
