This painting is a celebration of Antonin Dvorak's Cello Concerto in B minor. Of all musical instruments, I, personally, consider the cello the mellowest and with the most pleasing tone.
Here I am using the female figure, the string quarter, the sheet music and the text as a departure point, leading to the less definitive shapes and colors of the bulk of the painting. I have kept most of this painting within a pallet of warm, earthy colors. The sheet music and the string quartet were printed in high resolution and laminated to the back of semi-transparent drafting mylar. The portrait of the cellist and the remainder of the work were then painted on the surface.
THE CELLIST VIII is a one-of-a-kind original work of art. It is produced using India ink and acrylic paint. I have stayed with my usual pallet of warm “earthy” colors.
The painting is signed on the front and comes with a signed certificate of authenticity.

This painting will be ready to hang, out of the box. It will be mounted on one inch thick foamboard with a two inch border all around. It will have a hanging strip on the back and I include a “monkey hook” for easy attachment to your wall. It can be on your wall within five minutes.
