Original artwork description:

A body of water overlooked by a house is enclosed by walls, but in communication with the vast sea through a large masonry arch. Ships pass beyond the arch. In the foreground, the terracotta copy of an ancient statue of Aphrodite still manages to pour out her divine power of seduction.
