Original artwork description:

This is an original oil painting by Dutch artist Lotte Teussink. It's part of a triptych called The Cave. When creating this series of paintings, the artist thought of Plato's allegory of the cave. In the allegory "The Cave" a group of people who have lived chained to the wall of a cave all their lives, are facing a blank wall. The people watch shadows projected on the wall from objects passing in front of a fire behind them and give names to these shadows. The shadows are the prisoners' reality, but are not accurate representations of the real world.

This piece is made on a 50x40 canvas and framed in a wooden floating frame, ready to hang. The other 2 paintings of this triptych can be found here on Artfinder, and are available as a whole as well.

A certificate of authenticity is included and shipping is free of charge. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to get in touch. Lotte Teussink will respond as soon as possible.
