The bus stop at Notting Hill Gate where my friend Michael and I were waiting when we were about eleven (some 55 years ago) and some short sighted Old Dear stood at the Zebra Crossing Post instead of the Bus Stop a few yards up the road.. all the other travellers started queueing behind her... we'd noticed the mistake and when the bus came we were first in the queue only to luckily escape with our lives as the stampede of walking stick, panicked, OAPs scrambled onto the platform crushing anything that was in their way... ah memories..
