Once again inspired by Turner ...

I still remember very well how, as a teenager, I first came into contact with the fascinating work of J.M.W. Turner . I was particularly impressed by his countless sketches with which he prepared his oil paintings. This is also the case with the famous painting "The Burning of the Houses of Parliament" from 1835, for which he made multiple sketches using both pencil and watercolor in two sketchbooks, which fascinated me (and still fascinate me today) because they use color in a downright modern way. Somehow it was time to take up this inspiration from then and carry it over the decades into the present.

This painting is an aesthetic, finely nuanced and colorful impression on your wall. It is a part of my authentic, profound message as an artist.

This painting is a very intensive, intuitive work with many layers, a color application that is variable with sometimes thicker color dots and with an occasionally translucent color grounding. This is a volitional impression and a part of the accomplished artwork showing the impulsivity of the creative process. In my opinion this originality and authenticity accord with the subsurface message of this large painting. I use exclusively oil and acrylic paints, canvas and wooden frames in a professional museum quality. The painting bears my signature on the front and is signed, entitled and dated on the backside. Deliberately the sides (about 2 cm / 0.78 in wide) are not a part of the painting and show the pure white canvas with a few sprinkles of color, which emphasizes the intuitiveness of the painterly process of creation. The painting is ready to hang (on the backside: high-quality iron plates with metal inserts and nylon rope for gallery use) and doesn’t need any additional surface treatment. The piece will be safely shipped in a custom wooden crate. It will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and a cover letter.

Please note: In context pictures are not necessarily to scale and are for illustrative purposes only. If you have any questions about this painting or any other piece, feel free to contact me and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.

Thanks so much for taking an interest in my work.

Warm wishes,
Christian
