This is a view of the St Benezet Bridge across the Rhone at Avignon, Provence. Built originally in the 12th century, it has been washed away and rebuilt several times before being abandoned in the 17 century leaving just the 4 arches.
This watercolour painting was completed from an on site pen and ink sketch. Pictured in the evening with the sun setting and beautiful silhouettes and shadows.
