Bridestones Series
1,400 feet above sea-level the Bridestones stand on the moors to the east of Todmorden. a half mile long escarpment of Millstone Grit outcrops. Millstone Grit comprises thirty four individually named sandstones.
I love to go and wander among the stones, at all times of year, in the mist, the snow, at dusk, in the rain, there's always something new to paint.
This is one of my larger original oil paintings showing the local landscape - a well known outcrop of weathered and eroded Gritstone reminders of the earths infrastructure.

The painting is made using artists oil pigments and is painted onto a support of gesso-primed 100% cotton duck canvas from one of the last mills in the area.

The canvas will be removed from the stretcher for ease of shipping and will be rolled for transport. On arrival it will then be ready for framing or re-stretching.
The work is not framed and is ready to be framed to your preferences.
