This monotype print explores a painting by Pablo Picasso through the process of monotype printing methods that play with fauvist/ Matisse inspired mark-making. The painting of the waterbased printing ink has been pressed onto wet Fabriano paper, allowing the colours to blend into one another, like blotting paper absorbing those moments, building a sensibility to the memorial aesthetics - the transcience of those moments between mother and child through the act of giving and receiving life-giving sustainance and protection.

The bond between both merge into one body, a unity that is ephemeral, yet indeliable to memory.
