This is a painting in oil paint of a boat shed situated on the river Fal in Falmouth, Cornwall. During my time living in Falmouth I spent sometime at my friend's studio, near the Fish Factory Studios on the River Fal and I saw this boat shed everyday from across the river. One day I decided to paint this shed and some of the views, experimenting with moving through space, seeing another way of seeing the world.

The painting has been created through the application of oil paint with a dry brush being run over the top, smoothing out the paint and creating the effect of moving fast past the boat shed, as though one is on a speed boat on the river Fal, moving quickly past the shed.

If you squint your eyes, you will be able to clearly see the boat shed and its reflection in the river Fal.

Materials used:

OIl Paint, Linseed Oil, Dammar Varnish, Linen, Satin Varnish.
