2023, "The Big Crunch" - stone sculpture

This original marble and granite sculpture is one of the latest artworks of the talented Bulgarian contemporary professional sculptor Ognyan Chitakov, deeply inspired by geometrical abstraction, modernism and fractal cubism. It is a stunning abstract style scenery and it's an amazing maze of white marble and red granite pieces of rock, each polished and carved. The artist's concept is to create an unique three dimensional spatial form with the help of extraordinary labyrinth of lines, details, and depths, both in order and disorder, very much connected with the Dutch art movement De Stijl ("The Style"), also known as Neoplasticism and the big crunch theory, which describes a hypothetical scenario for the ultimate fate of the universe, in which the expansion of the universe eventually reverses and the universe recollapses, ultimately causing the cosmic scale factor to reach zero, an event potentially followed by a reformation of the universe starting with another Big Bang. The artwork is one amazing modern masterpiece and exquisite home décor.
