I really like walking in Mežaparks, it is very beautiful here at any time of the year. When the Swedish king Gustav II Adolf camped here for his troops in the 17th century, Mežaparks was called the Royal Forest, and it received its current name, which means Forest Park in Latvian, only in 1923.
