Original artwork description:

This drawing explores various journey's around the many castles and buildings associated with the Moors and exploring their wonderful Islamic artwork in and around Malaga, a place I lived for a period of time.

The image brings together various objects and historical sites seen in and around the city, exploring how one conjures memories of being in a place.

The drawing was created in response to forming ideas that contributed to an installation and mural created at the Malaca Instituto Spanish Language School, where I was employed to interior design one of the student rooms (Room 521), over a period of three months.

This is one of a series of drawings exploring my time in Malaga and Andalucia.

Materials used:

Waterbased paint and pencil on Carson paper.
