A colour pencil portrait of a Bateleur Eagle. I really wanted to draw a close up, detailed portrait of these stunning birds, and capture that striking stare of the Bateleur.
Approximately 50 hours of work went into this piece and it was most definitely a labour of love !
It has been double mounted and framed in a walnut wooden frame which compliments those brown and red tones in the piece perfectly.
Bateleur Eagles are definitely a less known species of eagle so I have loved drawing something a little different and hopefully made a few people aware of these beautiful raptors.
