This is a view across the shingle beach at Rye, Sussex, UK. The dark hut rather reminded me of Derek Jarmans beautiful black house on the shingle in Dungeness - another very dramatic place!
Occassionally I like to work in a watercolour-like way with Black Indian Ink and a Squirrel Hair brush. I like to create expressive monotone paintings, the simplification to black and white gives an air of sophistication!
