Original artwork description:

The work describes the magical moment when, after hours of walking, the landscape reveals itself to us in a perfect, sublime composition that enchants us and forces us to stop and admire it.
The trees, motionless, seem to have been waiting for us for a long time. The light, the leaves and the wind seem to celebrate our arrival.
Usually these "special" landscapes are the destination of our walks, the point of arrival. If we think of our life as a journey, this enchanted landscape could represent a satisfaction, an achievement, a goal finally reached.

This painting was done in the studio in September 2023. It is a reworking of several studies done en plein air.
The work is painted in oil on Masonite, a panel made of compressed wood fibres. Masonite is a material that was widely used by artists in the first half of the 20th century as a support for their paintings because it is extremely strong and crushproof. I love painting on this material because its very smooth surface allows me to achieve effects that cannot be achieved on other materials. I also have the guarantee of high durability.
The signature is on the bottom right.
The painting is protected by a layer of satin acrylic varnish.
The work comes with a thin black wooden frame to protect the edges. It is ready to hang.
The painting is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist.
"The arrival" is a literal translation of the original Italian title “L'arrivo”.

Materials used:

Oil on Masonite
