Original artwork description:

The Arrested Development is an homage to the Baroque artist Caravaggio. It was painted as a reaction to all the unrest in the world as seen on TV news channels to start a dialogue, both with modern cultural imagery and art history. I often use paintings by old masters such as Caravaggio and Velazquez as a starting point from which to playfully but reverently deviate. Figurative paintings offer infinite possibilities and by embracing the old masters I incorporate their styles to depict a more contemporary art construct.
