Original artwork description:

I've always liked this piece. It was painted over two long life drawing sessions at a time when I was beginning to explore what was important to me - observation and anatomy but also luscious colour enhanced from the natural and obvious. Through the back and in particular around the hip I've brought many colours together, creating a rainbow on the flesh. The model's ponytail gently rests on her back, but the line continues round her back framing her against the background.
