Kerosene lamps were a primary source of light in rural areas before the advent of electricity. The history of kerosene lamps includes the discovery of kerosene, the invention of the modern kerosene lamp, and the development of more efficient kerosene lamps. I remember using them whenever there was a power cut! The gentle light of this lamp was very soothing and I remember completing my school homework under this lamp! Now these have become antique pieces, wish my parents had not disposed it of!
