Original artwork description:

In this corner of the woods I encountered trees of all ages. There was the young, slender pine, the bleached trunks of dead trees, the majestic chestnut.
The wind had made this lump of earth more alive than ever.
As I stared at it, I imagined it as a great square, filled with men and women of all ages and colours.

I wanted to seize the moment and capture this feeling, painting with free, fluid and quick brushstrokes to preserve all the energy released by the woods.
This painting was done en plein air in September 2017 in the woods of the Tuscan hills.
The work is painted in oil on paper, then stretched on 100% linen canvas mounted on a solid fir frame.
The signature is in the lower right corner.
The painting is protected with a layer of satin acrylic varnish.
The work is framed in a slender fir frame, the knots in the wood deliberately exposed to enhance the natural subject. The frame is stained brown. It is ready to hang.
The work is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist.
"The ages of the woods" is a faithful translation of the original Italian title "Le età del bosco".
