The artwork, in a contemporary figurative style, is inspired by some representative characters of the society of 1400: a podestà, a religious woman and people of various social backgrounds who embrace each other manifesting their union and reconciliation. Saint Bernardino of Siena (1380 - 1444) stands in the midst of these figures, next to the emblem of the oriflamme, as he contemplates and blesses their pacification. In the upper part are inserted architectural symbols of the towns of Caravaggio and Treviglio, surmounted by a view of Massa Marittima that seems to join the two cities: the painting, dedicated to the historical period in which these three cities reached the reconciliation, is created in a harmonic complex through balances of volumes and shapes, in a homogeneous chromatic realization expressed in a harmonious synthesis.
