I am often asked why I paint roses in this way. Well, for me, the structure and color of a rose is also a wunderbae description of relationships between people-some of us like it quiet, delicate, simple, uncluttered. Other people love wild structures, strong colors, variety, tension- an expression of their relationship, way of life or life energy. In between there are endless possibilities of variation. Roses are therefore as versatile as we humans. I am really very sure about that!
