Tefnut (also Tefnetium or Tephnis; in Greek Tephnis), is an Egyptian deity of the ancient Egyptian religion belonging to the great Ennead of Heliopolis.

The goddess Tefnut represented in the Book of the Dead.
She was born, like her brother and husband of her Shu, from the sperm or mucous membrane of Atum, the creator. Tefnut and Shu form the first divine couple. Tefnut is the symbol of humidity and Shu that of air; they represent with their two sons, Geb (the earth) and Nut (the sky), the four primordial elements.
Tefnut, also associated with rain and clouds, symbolizes water and its creative power.
