Artwork description:

This is an etching and aquatint printed on wonderful somerset cream paper. It is from a very rare artist's proof edition of 2. (An artist's proof can be defined both as a print taken during progress of the work for the artist's benefit and it can often be a small edition of the work the artist has kept aside as his/her best versions of the print).

The artwork combines very fine crosshatching, from the initial line etching, with the rich, velvety tonal work of the aquatint. The work has a surreal and mysterious feel to it. The main subject matter of the tents are defined by well-bitten, thick black lines which contrast beautifully against the finer crosshatch shading and other line work.

This is an original etching and aquatint print pulled from a zinc plate.

Your print will come wrapped in protective tissue paper to reach you in the best condition.
