One of a series of paintings that I worked on after returning from a visit to Tenerife. I was captivated by the landscape and one particular rockface that reminded me of 'hanging gardens' as the trees and foliage seemingly thrived on the sheer face. At the top and base of the painting the edges of a banana plantation are visible. I have used a palette of predominantly greens and blues and a loose brushwork style. The painting is set in a painted wood frame with shadow gap between the canvas and frame.
